Shout out to Bonnie Lei, a 17 year-old whiz kid who studied sea slugs for three years to better understand biodiversity's importance to the environment. According to Whittier Daily News, the California teen has won all sorts of awards of course, and even did some field studies in Brazil's Pantanal wetlands. Her words have a mature sense of the big picture:
"Being immersed in the Pantanal for two weeks opened my eyes to the pressing need for conservation efforts. The call for action needs to be answered now, before the awe-inspiring environment is lost forever," Lei explained.
